Vision Board Fast Instructions and Focus Scriptures

Thursday, July 5th – Wednesday, July 11th

Fast Information: The fast will consist of giving up one or more item(s) for seven days that represents a sacrifice from our normal routine as we each ask God to impart into us His vision for our lives, with clarity, and to reveal to us immediate next steps He has for us to take. The purpose of the fast is also to petition God for His Favor and, as we commit to doing His will, to strengthen and focus us. The item(s) you are giving up can be something tangible such as a food or dietary item, or it can be something intangible like indulging in social media or a game on your phone. And, of course, you could do both. Please remember, when you are fasting it must be sacrificial, so it is important not to chose something to fast from that you won’t really miss.

An example of a good choice for the fast: If you drink a Pepsi soda twice a day everyday, choosing to fast from your Pepsi soda for the seven days would be a sacrifice. Another example would be if you spend several hours each day scrolling Facebook, a fast from social media this week would be a great sacrifice.

Start with Day 1. Then, for each day after, include the Scripture(s) from the day before then add that day’s Scripture. By Day 7, you should be reading all seven Scriptures.

Day 1 (7/5) – Habakkuk 2:2 “And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make [it] plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”

Day 2 (7/6) – Proverbs 29:18 “Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he.”

Day 3 (7/7) – Habakkuk 2:3 “For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

Day 4 – (7/8) Joel 2:28 “And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”

Day 5 – (7/9) Acts 2:17 “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.”

Day 6 – (7/10) Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Day 7 – (7/11) Acts 18:9 “Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace.”
